Belmont Community Players 2004

A Dedication . . .

Extremely talented people are hard to come by. When we have the pleasure of meeting someone of great talent and creativity, we are truly in awe. The company of the Belmont Community Players has had the pleasure of meeting and working with such a person.

We mourn the loss of a great choreographer, director and friend, Peggy Pardee who lost her battle with Hepatitis C in July of this year. Peggy spent approximately 15 years sharing her talents with us for which we are very lucky and very grateful.

Always a perfectionist, Peggy spent hours and hours teaching and re-teaching steps and movements so her cast would always be the best they could be. After all, it was their faces on the stage, not hers. She came up with complicated choreography that seemed to work when she moved her paper clips around on the table, but didn't always work when done with real people.

For those of us that knew her well, we can easily be reminded some of the important things we learned through the years of her theatrical know-how: no gum chewing, not at rehearsal and certainly not on stage; always wear the right shoes; no nail polish and no street jewelry on stage during a performance, not even Dress Rehearsal; listening whenever she spoke; no eating or drinking in costume; never stop moving if you make a mistake, just pick it up and keep going; always point your toes; practice, practice, practice; and smile.

At the end of this show, you will see a Finale unlike any other we have ever done. We have chosen a few of Peggy's numbers from the past years as a tribute to her talents and her memory. Please join us as we take a trip down memory lane with Peggy in mind. Before she passed away, she told her priest "Give me 6 months and I will be third in charge upstairs."

Peggy, we have no doubt that you are running the show up above and know that you will always make the choreography challenging and interesting. Be patient with those less talented. Give them something easy to do. We know that you are watching us and we can only hope our performances will be up to your standards.

The Belmont Community Players Proudly Dedicate our 2004 Production to Peggy's Memory
