The evil villain, Odeous Fowlfellow, revisits Hoyleville in Belmont to seek revenge on Castor Hoyle and the Hoyle family for casting him out of the town 25 years ago. Fowlfellow will take over the town of Hoyleville in the 11th hour of an illegal property transaction. He blackmails their maid, Lotta Largebottom, whom he recognizes from past felonious deeds, and the local Judge Cheatum to help with his plan. Castor, with the help of Constable Lescargot from the Canadian Royal Mounted Police, Prudence Hoyle his lovely and virtuous daughter, and other members of the family including Sunflower Hoyle and Olive Hoyle, Fowlfellow is undone and virtue triumphs.
The audience is encouraged to "boo" the villain, cheer for the hero and sigh for the lovely heroine and make other appropriate (or inappropriate) comments. |
